Javea is a gem of a town situated on the Northern Costa Blanca, Alicante province. It’s rugged coastline is indented with secluded coves and sandy beaches used by sunbathers, snorklers and scuba divers. Javea is situated on the most easterly point of mainland Spain about 100 kms from Valencia and 90 kms from Alicante. Javea has many properties for sale, apartments, chalets and villas.
Javea is split into three distinct areas: Old town with narrow streets and buildings built with original Tosca sandstone. Javea Port, with white houses surround the bay and many restaurants, shops, bars and cafes. The Port area has a real Spanish feel, this is an area where locals live and work. And Javea beach (El Arenal), The Arenal is very good for families; the beach is large and very wide, the water is very shallow and calm as it is in a sheltered bay. It is plenty of apartment blocks of which many are for rental. Surrounding Javea are beautiful green hills peppered with very expensive villas. These can make a great choice for a holiday if there are a few people.
Javea property market
The price of the properties for sale in Javea is one of the highest in Marina Alta and more generally within the Valencian Community. Indeed, an average square meter in Javea costs € 2,120. But there is a lot of difference between properties on the beachfront compared to properties located a few streets back. A beachfront property can cost between 4,900 and 5,100 €/m2 and a few streets back it can fluctuate between 1,300 and 1,500 €/m2. The price of a 75-square-meter home located near the coast can range between € 367,500 and € 382,500, while the same home located in a much more central place than the previous one has a price that can be around € 97,500 in worst case. Javea also has a luxury real estate market; these are villas and chalets with plot in the nearby coves and hills whose price can range between 3,300 and 4,500 €/m2.
New building developments in Javea are subject to height restrictions which mean there are no high-rise buildings unlike in other Costa Blanca towns such as Calpe or Benidorm.
