the médano has several beaches, the most important being la tejita and the beach of leocadio machado (popularly known as el médano beach). although they have different names there is a continuous promenade along the coast of the whole town. this walk joins the montaña pelada and the beach of the same name with the pier and the beaches on the opposite side of the town, from this walk you can access the hiking routes of montaña roja. the town also has several squares, the most important being the plaza del médano.
